In the recent years, obesity has become such a common health problem, especially in developed countries in America and Europe. Surveys show that the number of people who suffer from obesity increases every year. Experts agree that the main cause of this rising trend is the change in people’s diet and lifestyle. Nutritious home cooked food has been replaced by unhealthy junk food and TV dinner sets, afternoon strolls in the park replaced by a whole evening in front of the TV, and football games replaced by all night drinking sessions. In short, people are eating unhealthily and not getting enough exercise.
Physicians and nutritionists around the world are beginning to realize just how serious this problem can be in the future if it is not tackled now. That’s why they’re starting to encourage their patients to live healthier lives by changing their diet patterns and getting more exercise. Fortunately, governments also seem to be aware of this situation and are starting to take certain measures to counter it. For example, in some countries, junk food has been prohibited in schools. Steps like this will certainly make a difference ten or twenty years to come. Of course, we can also do our part to help solve this problem, and the best way to start is by making sure that we’re not obese ourselves.
individual insurance says:
We create arbitrary groups all the time for the sake of segmentation and discussion. Even “fat” and “disabled” are groupings that encompass a wide variety of people. We can subdivide these groups or merge them and still make a valid argument about their relationships to society and each other. To artificially limit these discussions is really the most abhorrent part of PC culture.

Good points…I would note that as someone who really doesn’t comment to blogs much (in fact, this may be my first post), I don’t think the term “lurker” is very flattering to a non-posting reader. It’s not your fault at all, but perhaps the blogosphere could come up with a better, non-creepy name for the 90% of us that enjoy just reading the posts.
