Alcohol has become an inseparable part of many people’s lives. Some people drink only socially, some people drink moderately, and some people seem to live off alochol alone. If you drink or are considering to start drinking, you should look at these facts about alcohol.
To start with the good things, alcohol actually has some health benefits when it is consumed moderately. Alcohol has been proven to help prevent blood clots, heart attacks, strokes and dementia in the aging population. Not only that, alcohol also helps to increase HDL levels of good cholesterol.
However, alcohol consumption is not without risks. Researchers have found that alcohol is closely related to many diseases, including high blood pressure and liver problems. Excessive consumption of alcohol also causes alcohol addiction and bouts of depression. Some new studies have also found that alcohol consumption causes intellectual deficits and other problems with the brain.
