A balanced diet is the key to a healthy life. Such a diet will also play a key role in weight control. Basically, a balanced diet is a diet that contains all the nutrients that the body needs to function properly. These nutrients include protein, carbohydrate, fat and various vitamins and minerals. To obtain all these nutrients, we have to arrange a diet that consists of various types of food.

Meat, eggs, fish and milk are good sources of protein,which  is a very important nutrient as it is the building block of our body. Children, especially, need plenty of protein to help them grow. To obtain carbohydrate, we can include things like rice, bread or potato in our diet. Carbohydrate is our source of energy. That’s why rice, potato and bread are the most common staple foods in the world.

Fat can be obtained primarily from meat, eggs, milk and nuts. Fat is another important source of energy, but we need to be careful not to consume too much fatty food because too much fat can lead to various health problems, including cancer and heart attacks.We must also remember to include vitamins and minerals in our diet. Fresh fruit and vegetables are the best source for these nutrients.

A balanced diet will ensure that our body gets all the nutrients it needs. This, in turn, will lead to a healthy life.
