How many hours do you sleep at night? On average, people need 8 hours of sleep everyday but some people may need more or less. Older people and children usually need more than 8 hours of sleep. Even some adults may need up to 10 hours or more. However, there are also some people who can get by just fine with less sleep. Some of them only need 4-6 hours of sleep a day and they will be able to perform their activities without feeling tired or sleepy.

How do you determine the amount of sleep you need? It’s actually very simple. Just go to sleep at night without setting any alarms or wake up calls. And when you wake up naturally the next morning, just calculate the hours you’ve spent sleeping. That’s the amount of sleep you need to be able to function effectively. Of course, there could be some exceptions as sometimes you’ll be sleeping more or less depending on your daily activities.

Once you find out how many hours of sleep you need, it’s important to make sure that you’re getting it because sleep gives our body a chance to rest and recuperate and is essential for a healthy life.
